Watch the outside temperature change with an auto thermometer.

Last summer we drove from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. The actual trip is around 125 miles or roughly 2 hours on the highway without traffic. When we left Los Angeles, I looked at our factory installed auto thermometer for the outside temperature. It was in the mid 80's as it was about 10 o'clock at night. I kept a close watch on the temperature as we drove through Pasadena, Montclair, and then Ontario as it still remained in the mid 80's. When we approached Yucaipa and started climbing up the mountain, the temperature began dropping to the low 80's. When we came down the mountain into Banning, the temperature started going up quickly. It was now back to mid 80's, then low 90's. In Cabezon, it was mid 90's and still rising. When we approached Palm Springs, it was at 97, 98, 99, and then 100 degrees. We pulled into Palm Springs at midnight and it was still 100 degrees outside. This all was made possible using our auto thermometer.
